If anyone on Oppo is interested let me know. I haven't advertised it yet, but I'll be listing it for sale next week. I'm asking $4500, and it's located near Bowling Green Kentucky.
So now a little about the truck. It's a 1989 C350 Centurion Bronco. 460 big block and 1 ton axles. It has just under 90k on the odometer. I don't know if it has rolled over, but I doubt it. The engine runs great, however it is experiencing some jerkiness with the transmission. I don't have time to fix it, hence the sale. It could be an easy electronic fix, or it could be more serious. It's not slipping just jerking, so it would seem it's something to do with the torque converter.
The body is in very good shape for a Centurion. It spent most of it's life in socal. This is the first winter with salted roads it has experienced (and it's been driven about 10 times on salted roads, and cleaned afterwards.). There is rust at the joint of the truck and Bronco sections. The Centurion factory used a lot of Bondo on the roof joint and it has cracked and caused rust over the years. No rust holes, but that section will need some work to repair. The underside is very clean, but does have surface rust at the joint of the bodies. It has some dents and dings all over, and the clearcoat has failed, but it doesn't look too bad. Again, no major rust as this is a southern California truck.
All steering links and ball joints were replaced less than 500 miles ago. New shocks, and sway bar links as well. Also a new set of tires was put on shortly thereafter ($1k in tires alone). Those repairs were made to be safe to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! home from the port. The links don't look so new anymore due to the salted roads, but it's just a little surface rust on bare metal. The pic above is from before the work was completed to to the steering and suspension.
The interior is in great shape aside from the front seats. They need new foam and to be recovered. No hole, or tears in the back bench seats though. Headliner is great and not sagging. Carpet has some stains and a couple burns. Dash is great with one 1 inch crack on the passenger side.
I'll post more current pics when I officially put it up for sale next week. Just wanted to see if there was any interest from Oppo first. It pains me to sell the truck, as I had intended on keeping it forever, but it has to go.

I'd be all over this if we weren't buying a house soon. Awesome truck though.

I would love a Centurion Bronco so much, but I'm broke as fuck. Good luck with sale!

This is relevant to my interests. Is it 7 pin wired for trailer brakes and a controller?
![]() 03/07/2015 at 12:46 |
|
It's not. It has the old school 4 pin light connector, no brake control.

Daaaaamn I want that truck.
Now to see if I can sell the wife on it, could be a hell of an offroader, though it's so nice.
I know you said it's set up to tow....how much can it haul?

I've towed single car trailers with it. Due to the conversion, the door tag says 6500lbs GVWR but the original Ford tag says 9200lbs GVWR...it can do way more than what I've towed with it, just have to watch the tongue weight so you don't overload the rear axle.

It could be yours...!

These are so not me, but I really want it at the same time. Always like it when I see a Centurion truck.

A buddy of mine was telling me he wanted one of these. I just linked him this article. He has the cash and is willing to travel to go get it. Lets see if he jumps on it.

Thanks for sharing it. I'd really like it to go to someone who appreciates what it is.

It's really not me either, but I totally fell in love with it. I went from an almost slammed Miata to this...first truck I've ever owned. I really hate letting it go.

Think a 5000 lb 24 foot camper would be towable?
![]() 03/07/2015 at 14:50 |
|
Yeah, I don't think that would be an issue. It wouldn't get good mileage doing it though. I get about 10 towing a car on a trailer. I'd say, I've towed at least 4,500lbs with it, and it did that no problem.

I'd buy buy buy, but this thing will take up my front yard :P and the cost to drive to CA to pick it up and drive all the way back with a transmission that may need work. I'd love Centurions though.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 15:39 |

It's actually in Kentucky...I trailered it here from California. Can't help with your front yard though...it's big.

Fascinating. I'll think about it. I love these things and they are hard to find, let alone having a trustworthy person to get one from.

Offer it to David Freiburger...it could be a Roadkill or Dirt everyday episode in the making...

no problem! I just want an excuse to do a massive road trip. We are in Edmonton AB looks like 2060 miles one way.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:59 |
|
Oh wow...that's a serious road trip! The transmission would need to be taken care of before that trip, but that would be the only issue. It might be fine the way it is, but I wouldn't drive it that far...tell your friend I'd be willing to work something out if he wanted to purchase it, and have that repaired here before the trip. I'm pretty sure it's a torque converter lockup issue. I just don't have time to diagnose and repair it myself. I would be happy to take it to someone though. I'm going to be putting new front brakes on it Monday or Tuesday.
